Enjoy Legacy of the Void with These Fun Events!

On Tuesday, November 10, Legacy of the Void was released. As the armada of players came online to save the Koprulu sector from certain doom, keyboards began clacking away to send Zealots, Immortals, and other Protoss warriors into glorious battle.

While the most devout of Hierarchs may have already completed the Campaign, many others continue to enjoy the story mode at a more languid pace. Some players forewent the Campaign altogether, selecting their favorite commander and plunging headfirst into the new Co-op Missions game mode. Multiplayer aficionados have been placed into their leagues, or perhaps even taken home a few trophies from the new Automated Tournaments feature, while the Arcade is packed with lobbies displaying an assortment of unique game experiences.

Such is Legacy of the Void… never before has StarCraft II had such a vast number of ways to experience the game! As we reflect on the last week, there were a vast number of events celebrating the game’s launch, and there’s still more to come! Below, we’ve provided an easy way to look glance back on what you may have missed, and preview what is still to come.

Recap

Launch Stream Celebration

Like many things in life, video games are often best when experienced with others, and Legacy of the Void is no different. With its release, many players took to Twitch.TV to share their initial play sessions with others in the community.

To encourage more participation, we reached out to select individuals within the community to promote viewers to congregate to their streams. This promotion included giveaways of StarCraft II swag, free copies of Wings of Liberty, and free copies of Legacy of the Void. The event went so well that we’ve decided to keep it going- so if you want the scoop on what we’ve been giving away or who were featuring in this promotion, you can check out our blog on the streamer celebration here! The streamers we’ve featured will continue to give away StarCraft II boxes and swag for the rest of the week

Legacy of the Void Celebration

To herald the launch of Legacy of the Void, we hosted a show at BlizzCon that examined StarCraft and Brood War, the development of eSports, and the role that community-content has played in fostering the community we have today. The show then proceeded into the future plans for StarCraft II, and what we hope to achieve in the coming years. These Archons, similar to ones made by two different types of Templar, will be formed by pairing two different types of people together. Each Archon team will have a current StarCraft II pro, as well as a former pro or personality. Many of your old favorites will be returning for this event, so be sure to stay tuned for more news!
