Developer Daybreak Games has unveiled a new expansion for its massively multiplayer online role-playing game EverQuest, titled The Broken Mirror. It is the 22nd expansion for the MMORPG and features Anashti Sul, a “vengeful goddess” and four new expansion zones as well as three revamped zones.
EverQuest: The Broken Mirror will bring with it instanced, scalable version of the Plane of Hate and Plane of Fear for raids in the level range of 75-105. In addition, the expansion will add new quests, missions, heroic adventures and raids, new spells, Alternate Advancements, and an Illusion Key Ring. The expansion will launch on November 18 and can be pre-purchased on PC for $34.99 via the EverQuest website.
Daybreak Games is also launching an expansion for EverQuest II, titled Terrors of Thalumbra. The 12th expansion for the MMO, Terrors of Thalumbra will introduce a new overland zone featuring a contested zone and special quests for Adventure and Tradeskill players. The expansion will bring with it new scalable dungeons for players level 20-94, and new raid zones and solo dungeons for players who are level 100.
EverQuest II: Terrors of Thalumbra can be purchased for PC from $34.99 at the EverQuest 2 website.
The original EverQuest first launched in 1999 to positive critical acclaim. The game was developed by Sony Online Entertainment, a subsidiary of Sony that was sold to Columbus Nova earlier this year and subsequently renamed Daybreak Game Company. In addition to working on EverQuest, Daybreak has also developed more recent MMOs such as H1Z1, DC Universe Online, and PlanetSide 2.
