Fatecharm Upgrades Preview

Adventurers, the Fatecharm system is almost here – boost tons of stats, including debuff Masteries and movement speed, in the Sunstrider Update!

When the Sunstrider update launches, you’ll be able to build Fatecharm, a new equipment slot similar to Soulstones. This system is only available starting at 150+ Ascended, and as you get closer to 160Asc, you’ll unlock to six total Fatecharm slots.

Fatecharms are pretty simple: Each charm boosts a given stat, the base bonus is determined by the charm’s quality, and the base bonus is multiplied by the charm’s level, up to LV10. What’s interesting is the stats that it gives boost to, from CritStrike Rate to movement speed – and how much it can give bonuses to.

You’ll get Fatecharm Fragments from monsters in the new Inferna and Sunstrider maps, plus from the Archaia and Inferna strike order quests. Once you have ten Fatecharm Fragments, you can combine them into a Level 1 Fatecharm – random quality, random stat. You can make only ten Fatecharms per day in this way.

Once you’ve made a Fatecharm, you can fuse other Fatecharms and Fragments into it to level it up. Higher-quality charms are worth more EXP if fused into another charm, and require more EXP to level. The total bonus to your stats is = [quality] x [level] x [base value]. You can have up to six Fatecharms slotted once you hit 160Asc, each of a different type. You can de-slot a Fatecharm for 100 Gold.

This is also a good time to introduce two new stats: debuff Recovery and Mastery. For Sleep, Paralyze, etc., in addition to normal Resistance, you can reduce the duration of debuffs affecting you by getting Recovery. Recovery reduces duration by a percent – while Mastery cancels out points of Recovery.

Your Mastery won’t ever increase the duration, though, it’ll only cancel out Recovery. Both of these stats are available in the Fatecharm system.
