The PC version of Final Fantasy XIII, which launched last month with basically no graphics options whatsoever, will receive an update next month that will let you play the game in 1080p.
“The Final Fantasy XIII team have been working hard to improve your experience on Steam and we’re happy to announce the following changes will be rolled out at the beginning of December,” Square Enix wrote on the game’s Steam page.
Changes introduced in the Final Fantasy XIII update include custom resolutions up to 1080p and unspecified “graphics options,” Square Enix said.
GameSpot installed Final Fantasy XIII on PC in October and found that configurable options are limited to basic elements like difficulty, subtitles, and camera. The game is also currently locked at a maximum resolution of 720p–though a third-party plugin was released that brings the game’s resolution up to 1080p.
Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Lightning Returns are also coming to PC through Steam, and are expected to launch by spring 2015.
