The release date for Forza Motorsport 6 has been confirmed for holiday 2015, the Microsoft executive Aaron Greenberg has confirmed.
A release this fall has been expected since the Xbox One game was announced in January, but this is the first time Microsoft has actually officially stated when the game will launch.
Greenberg mentioned the release window as part of the latest Inner Circle podcast. Other Xbox One console exclusives for this holiday from Microsoft include Rise of the Tomb Raider, Fable Legends (which is also coming to PC), Halo 5: Guardians, and Quantum Break.
This list could grow further still, as Microsoft is known to announce new projects at its summer shows such as E3 and Gamescom.
Microsoft officially announced Forza 6 in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The game is in development at series steward Turn 10 Studios and will feature the all-new Ford GT (above) as its cover star. For a closer look at the Ford GT, see the image gallery below.
Forza 6 will also feature other Ford muscle cars, including the Shelby GT350 Mustang (the car from the Aaron Paul Need for Speed movie) and the F-150 Raptor.
Microsoft’s Forza 6 announcement was light on details, but the company promises it will offer a worldwide gameplay reveal at E3 in June.
2015 is a big year for the Forza series, as the racing franchise celebrates its 10th anniversary. The first Forza Motorsport was released for the original Xbox in 2005.
