Activision Australia has announced a Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Zombies-themed escape room to kick off at PAX Aus this year. The escape room will run from Friday, October 30 until Friday, November 6 midnight in Melbourne’s Federation Square. Those who wish to participate can grab free tickets by registering at the event’s website while they are available.
Activision has partnered with Secret Squirrel for the event, a production company specialising in “immersive experiences.” The escape room itself will be set in 1940’s Morg City, the location featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops 3’s Zombies mode and used in the map Shadows of Evil.
For the uninitiated, an escape room is a physical, live puzzle game where participants must solve a series of puzzles and unravel a story in order to escape a room within a set time limit.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will be released on November 6 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. It is a sequel to 2012’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 2.
PAX Aus runs from October 30 to November 1 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. It will be the third annual PAX Aus to run since its debut in 2013. Never been to a PAX Aus before? Check out some of GameSpot’s previous coverage of games, cosplays, and what attendees thought of the show.
