Much of the success of 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy was due to the chemistry between the band of intergalactic ex-cons and outsiders, and all of the main cast will be back for next year’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. There will be some new characters too, and Marvel have released a new piece of concept art that provides a first look at the super-powered Mantis. Played by Pom Klementieff, she can be seen standing at the back behind Star Lord. Check it out below:
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 wrapped production last month. It is directed by James Gunn once more, and stars Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, and Kurt Russell.
The film will feature at San Diego Comic-Con later this month. While it is unknown if any footage or even a trailer will be shown at the event, Gunn did tease fans with a few hints.
“Well, you might see something if you’re in Hall H on July 23 with me and the Marvel panel,” he said, via Movieweb. “Or if someone secretly films that–which is less likely to happen because of new technology, but I still know it sometimes happens–then you’ll see it right after. If not then, it will be a short while.”
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters on May 5, 2017.
