The next free Halo 5: Guardians DLC, Ghosts of Meridian, is coming next week, Microsoft announced today. A specific release date was not shared, but it will be out sometime in the coming week.
As announced previously, Ghosts of Meridian includes two new maps (see them here), as well as more weapons and vehicles, in addition to new customization options and more.
Developer 343 Industries will talk more about this content and show it off during a livestream event on Tuesday, April 5. The two-hour show will run from 3 PM PST to 5 PM PST that day on Twitch.
Ghosts of Meridian’s two maps are Tyrant (Arena) and Skirmish at Darkstar (Warzone), which we learned a lot more about earlier today. Check out GameSpot’s coverage of the two maps, including insights from the developers, here in our earlier story.
In addition to these maps, Ghosts of Meridian will deliver further updates and tweaks to Halo 5’s multiplayer, as well as adjustments to sandbox, weapons, and vehicles. Players can also expect improvements to the Req station UI, as well as a “lengthy” list of Forge changes. The update also includes a rebalance of SWAT gametypes and more, according to a Halo Waypoint post today.
The Ghosts of Meridian Req lineup and some new screenshots have also been released and can be seen in the gallery below.
Ghosts of Meridian is Halo 5’s fifth free update following the game’s launch in October 2015. The others were The Battle of Shadow and Light (November), Cartographer’s Gift (December), Infinity’s Armor (January), and Hammer Storm (February). This monthly streak comes to an end with Ghosts of Meridian, as it’s not coming out until April.
In other Halo 5 news, a new Warzone Turbo mode has been released.
