Although Battlefield 1 led the way with the most nominations, it’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild that’s walked away with the top prize from the E3 2016 Game Critics Awards.
The awards, which are decided upon by members of 40 different media outlets (including GameSpot), saw Breath of the Wild win three awards: Best of Show, Best Console Game, and Best Action/Adventure Game. Civilization VI was the only game to win more than one award, being named Best PC Game and Best Strategy Game.
In terms of publishers, Nintendo and Sony led the way with three wins each; Sony’s success came thanks to Horizon: Zero Dawn, PlayStation VR, and God of War.
