The creator of the Metal Gear series, Hideo Kojima, has tweeted a picture of an object labelled with the text “Metal Gear Collection 2014”.

Accompanied by text which translates roughly into “in the middle of reading this,” the tweet could allude to a possible new collection series for the Metal Gear series of games. If true, this would not be the first time a collection of the games has appeared, following the release of Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection, Metal Gear Solid HD collection, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence.
It also worth noting that the collection could possibly tie in with the Metal Gear chocolates Kojima tweeted a photo of soon after. The chocolates, which are Metal Gear-themed, will be sold at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show.
Kojima Productions will be revealing a “a bit of MGSV info” tomorrow, before its wider reveal at Tokyo Game Show next week. GameSpot will be present at the show for it’s duration, so be sure to stay tuned to the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain gamespace for updates as they are announced.
What do you think, could we be seeing a new collection of games soon or is Kojima pulling a prank? Let us know in the comments below.
