Left 4 Dead Survivors gets a first trailer

Left 4 Dead Survivors, an arcade version of Valve’s multiplayer first-person shooter, has released its first gameplay trailer.

Valve has partnered with Japanese publisher Taito for the game, which seems to mix content from both Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2. Surprisingly, Left 4 Dead Survivors looks almost indistinguishable from the original games, though it could look much different by the time it’s released.

In 2006, Taito released Half-Life 2: Survivor for Japanese arcades. As you can see in this video, it added flashing arrows that point you in the right direction, points, and other elements that would compliment a quicker arcade experience.

Left 4 Dead Survivors will release in Japanese arcades later this year.

There is growing speculation that Valve is working on a third entry in the Left 4 Dead series. Left 4 Dead 3 was spotted in a project tracker last June, and another listing for the game appeared just months later. The original Left 4 Dead launched in October 2008, with its sequel, Left 4 Dead 2, arriving just one year later.
