LGBTQ-friendly game convention funded in two days

GaymerX2–the second annual convention that celebrates the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer gaming community–has met its initial funding goal of $10,000 only two days after it launched its Kickstarter campaign.

At press time, funding stands at $13,599 from 168 backers with 30 days to go.

Funding stretch goals will allow the organizers to produce full color programs with original art by queer designers, a cosplay contest and party, a 24-hour Twitch hangout, and more.

The three-day event will focus on celebrating diversity and inclusivity in gaming and will feature a range of panels and talks with developers and LGBTQ leaders. Speakers this year include veteran BioWare writer David Gaider, Reddit cofounder Alexis Ohanian, and writer Mattie Brice. Musicians Virt, 2Mello, and Aethernaut will perform at the event.
