The Mass Effect 4D amusement park ride was announced last year to be coming to California’s Great America. The theme park released a video of the ride this month, and now we know when you’ll be able to take a ride on Mass Effect: New Earth.
California’s Great America revealed that New Earth will open on May 18 via Twitter. The amusement park included its season pass prices, which range from six easy payments of $11 to $34 depending on the included benefits you’re interested in. You can check them out for yourself here.
Mass Effect: New Earth is described as a “4D holographic journey” in which “anyone can be an explorer.” The ride features the world’s largest LED screen and was produced in partnership with Electronic Arts and Mass Effect developer BioWare.
It was also announced back in September that it would feature “settings and characters” from the series, with visitors climbing “aborad motion-based seating and [wearing] 3D glasses, [while] live performers will curate the journey and interact seamlessly with the ‘next generation 3D visual.'”
Mass Effect isn’t the only video game to get its own theme park ride. Plants vs. Zombies, another EA franchise, is getting its own “intra-active 3D game experience” at Carowinds theme park in Charlotte, North Carolina.
