Microsoft’s Marc Whitten to discuss future of Xbox at GDC

Eager to know what the future holds for the Xbox brand? If so, you’ll want to pay attention to next month’s Game Developers Conference, specifically a “fireside chat” with Xbox chief product officer Marc Whitten to be held on Friday, March 21.

During the session, Whitten will recall the development and launch of the Xbox One, discuss Microsoft’s self-publishing program ID@Xbox, and talk about what may come in the future. That’s the part that’s likely to be the most interesting, no doubt.

GameSpot will be in attendance at GDC 2014 bringing you all the news from the show, which runs March 17-21 in San Francisco, California. Whitten, of course, is not the only senior gaming developer featured at next month’s show. PlayStation 4 lead system architect Mark Cerny will speak at the event, as will developers behind major franchises like Grand Theft Auto and Halo.

Sony is rumored to formally announce its rumored virtual reality headset for the PlayStation 4 during the event, which also plays host to the GDC Awards and IGF Awards. Those will be streamed exclusively through GameSpot. You can check out a special video featuring commentary from some of the game creators below.
