New Mario Tennis for Wii U Gets Release Date

Mario Tennis Ultra Smash, the latest entry in the long-running Mario Tennis series, launches for Wii U on November 20, Nintendo announced today on Twitter. The game will sell for $50 instead of $60.

Announced at E3 2015 this summer, Ultra Smash adds a number of new features, including a “Jumpshot” ability where you vault into the air and slam the ball with force. In addition, it introduces a new Mega Mushroom power-up that causes players to grown in size (and seemingly strength) considerably. The game supports 1v1 or 2v2 matches against friends or the computer. Check out the video below for a closer look.

According to the Ultra Smash product page on Nintendo’s website, the game will feature characters never before seen in a Mario Tennis game. However, Nintendo has not yet announced the full character roster or provided a complete list of power-ups for the tennis game.
