While Mario and friends tend to make cameos in a wide variety of genres and in games from many different companies, it’s rare to be able to play as a Fire Emblem character outside of a Nintendo game. But that’s exactly what you’ll be able to do in the cameo-packed Project X Zone 2.
Announced earlier today during a livestream at the Tokyo Game Show, both Lucina and Chrom from Fire Emblem: Awakening will make an appearance in the Namco Bandai-published game. Project X Zone is developed by Monolith Soft, so it’s perhaps less surprising that it will also include Xenoblade Chronicles’ Fiora as a playable character.
Previous cross-over characters already revealed for the game include Phoenix Wright (from the Ace Attorney series); X & Zero (from Mega Man X); Ken, Ryu, and Chun-Li (from Street Fighter); and Segata Sanshiro (from the Japanese Sega Saturn commercials).
Project X Zone 2 is set to release in the US and EU next February on the Nintendo 3DS.
