Nintendo Directs Will Continue, But No Word on Who Will Host

Nintendo’s ongoing video series, Nintendo Direct, will continue. The company confirmed the news today in a statement, but there are no details yet regarding the form, content, or host for future videos.

“Nintendo Directs will continue,” the a representative for the company told IGN. “But we have no details to provide now on who will be featured or the topics that will be covered.”

Former Nintendo president Satoru Iwata historically hosted the video events. Nintendo has not held another Nintendo Direct since Iwata’s death in July, and whether or not it would continue was in question.

Nintendo Direct video presentations typically bring news about Nintendo’s upcoming lineup of games, hardware, and more recently, Amiibos. It remains to be seen if the video series will go in a new direction.

Earlier this week, Nintendo named its next president, Tatsumi Kimishima, the man who predicted the Wii U would not be a success. He has been elected for one year.
