A select number of people will have the opportunity to play the new Star Wars: Battlefront in a week’s time, publisher Electronic Arts has announced.
Two EA studios, EA Canada and EA Redwood Shores, will be hosting playtests for the upcoming game on Friday, April 10. In order to attend, you’ll need to register online either here for EA Canada, or here for Redwood Shores. You’ll of course also need to be in the area–Burnaby, British Columbia or Redwood City, CA–next Friday.
Those who are selected will be notified via email. Attendees will need to a sign a non-disclosure agreement and won’t be allowed to record any gameplay footage. On the bright side, the sessions will last anywhere from three to four hours, and participants will get two free EA games of their choice.
Barring anyone who decides to break the NDA, we won’t be hearing any details out of these playtests next week. However, we will be seeing Battlefront’s debut trailer later this month, when EA shares it during the Star Wars Celebration event on April 17.
Battlefront is being developed by Battlefield maker DICE, which recently said it had made “so much progress over the last couple of weeks.” An exact release date has not yet been announced, but we do know it’s slated to come to Xbox One, PS4, and PC this holiday.
