Pokemon 2DS Systems Coming to Japan

New 2DS systems themed around Pokemon are coming to Japan, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have announced.

The four retro-looking systems will come in yellow, red, green, and blue when they arrive on February 27, 2016. That’s not a random date–it’s the 20th anniversary of the Pokemon series (via IGN).

The 2DS systems also come with pre-installed copies of the games their colors correspond to. In addition, you also get special stickers, a code to download Mew for the latest Pokemon games, and more–head to this page to get all the details.

Pokemon Blue, Yellow, and Red are coming to the 3DS eShop on February 27, Nintendo announced earlier this year during a Nintendo Direct video briefing. Players can trade and battle their Pokemon wirelessly; this was not possible for the original games, which required a cable for multiplayer functionality.

There’s no word as of yet regarding if these special-edition 2DS systems will launch in North America. We’ll have those details for you as they’re made available.
