PSN undergoing 5.5 hours of maintenance today – What that means for you

Sony will perform routine maintenance on the PlayStation Network later on today, March 10, the company announced in a blog post on its website. The maintenance is scheduled to begin at 8:30 PDT and run through 2 p.m. PDT for a total of 5.5 hours. That’s 11:30 a.m. EDT-5 p.m. EDT.

Anyone who has signed into the PSN since March 6 will be able to continue to play games online and access partner applications like Netflix during the maintenance period. However, the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, and Account Management will be unavailable during the 5.5-hour period.

“We thank you for your patience and support and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” Sony said.

It is unclear what specifically Sony is addressing as part of today’s maintenance, though it does not appear to be anything out of the ordinary.
