Publisher Electronic Arts has announced the signing of an exclusive partnership with Spanish side Real Madrid.
According to an EA blog post, the deal is set to include exclusive content including “a FIFA 16 player tournament featuring the Real Madrid squad” as well as experiences at the club’s home ground the Bernabéu.
FIFA 16 will also feature exclusive 3D head scans, depicting 14 of the squad’s top players including Cristiano Ronaldo, James Rodriguez, and Luka Modrić.
It is unclear how exactly the FIFA exclusivity deal will affect rival football game PES 2016. Adam Bhatti, a product manager for Pro Evolution Soccer, suggested that the FIFA deal will have a “no impact”.
In a message posted on Twitter, he wrote: “Lots of questions about Real Madrid partnership deal. Don’t worry, has no impact on PES 2016, all teams in La Liga are still fully licensed.”
