At Sony’s E3 2016 press conference, one of the surprise announcements was Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, the next installment in the survival horror series. Today, Capcom announced that players who preorder the game will get to play the hardest difficulty setting early.
Preorders include the “Survival Pack,” which grants an unlock of the game’s hardest difficulty. There’s no word yet on how players who do not preorder the game will unlock it, but there’s a good chance that it’ll require you to finish the game on lower difficulties first. The Survival Pack also includes a special item set that Capcom has yet to explain.
There’s also a special edition available for purchase. The Deluxe Edition includes two content packs: one with four short side stories and the other with an additional story episode. This edition costs $80.
Resident Evil 7 launches on January 24, 2017, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The full game will be playable on PlayStation VR headsets. If you’re a PS Plus subscriber, you can download a free demo of the game for PS4 right now. Keep an eye on GameSpot for more news about RE 7 coming out of E3 2016 this week.
