Rocket League Getting Winter Games Event

The weather outside may be frightful, but your video games are getting a winter forecast this December as well. Rocket League will see a Winter Games Event starting on December 14 that includes a new Mutator and several winter-themed items.

Psyonix’s VP of Marketing Keith Dunham wrote in a PlayStation Blog post that the new Mutator is called Snow Day and will be replacing the “Mutator Mashup” playlist. Snow Day will cover the field in ice and replace the ball with a hockey puck, which was first shown when Mutators were announced in October.

The seven winter-themed items include a Candy Cane antenna, a “Santa” topper, and an “Xmas” rocket trail (full list below). All you have do to unlock them is play matches. The chance of these dropping are lower than standard items and you’ll only have until January 4 to get them. If you unlock them before the cut-off date, then you’ll keep them forever; otherwise, you’ll have to wait until next year to try again.

Here is the full list of Winter Games Event items:

  • “Xmas” Rocket Trail
  • “Blitzen” Topper
  • “Christmas Tree” Topper
  • “Sad Sapling” Topper
  • “Santa” Topper
  • “Candy Cane” Antenna
  • “Holiday Gift” Antenna

Rocket League will be getting a new DLC pack next week called “Chaos Run,” which features Mad Max-inspired battle-cars and customization options. However, you won’t need to purchase this upcoming DLC to play on the new Wasteland field that launches on the same day.

You can skip to the end and leave a response. Pinging is currently not allowed.
