Saints Row Creative Director Joins Valve

Steve Jaros, Studio Creative Director at Saints Row developer Volition, is leaving the company for a new job at Valve.

Jaros shared the news today via his Twitter account. “The past 10 years at Volition have been life changing,” Jaros said. “I’ve gotten to work with amazing people and made friends that will last a lifetime. I’m super proud of the work we did on Saints Row, and am excited for what Volition does in the future, but it’s time for me to move on. I’m looking forward to new adventures at Valve Software.”

Jaros hasn’t said what he’ll be working on at Valve.

Volition is currently working on a standalone expansion for Saints Row subtitled Gat Out of Hell for PC, 360, PS3, Xbox One, and PS4, as well as a port of Saints Row IV for Xbox One and PS4.

Jaros recently responded to the latest video in Anita Sarkeesian’s Tropes vs. Women In Video Games series, which outlines the trope of women used as background decoration in games. Jaros posted a link to the video via Twitter the day after it was released. “This is something we all should be better at,” he said. “Yes the original saints Row is listed here. Yes it should be.”
