Hulu has published the first trailer for 11.22.63, an upcoming eight-part series in which James Franco travels back in time to stop the assassination of president John. F. Kennedy. The show is based on the novel of the same name from prolific author Stephen King. Take a look at the trailer below. It’s intense.
11.22.63 debuts exclusively thtrough Hulu on February 15–which is Presidents Day.
The show also stars Chris Cooper, Josh Duhamel, T.R. Knight, Cherry Jones, Sarah Gadon, Lucy Fry, George MacKay, and Daniel Webber. It is directed by Kevin Macdonald (Last King of Scotland) and is produced by, among others, Star Wars: The Force Awakens director JJ Abrams and King himself.
“It’s sort of become, in a weird way, legend for my generation where it feels like Marilyn Monroe or James Dean,” Franco said at the Television Critics Association press tour today, as reported by Entertainment Weekly. “But in fact it was this horrific event. I thought this story and approach was so great because it’s a fresh way in. We’re not exactly telling a history lesson … You get to learn everything all over again, but from a completely fresh perspective we haven’t really seen before. It’t a way to guide a new generation into what happened.”
