Sega Survey Asks About Sonic Crossover Games

Sonic is no stranger to crossovers, having appeared in Super Smash Bros. and a number of Mario & Sonic games. Sega may now be considering even more partnerships like these if a new survey is any indication.

A survey sent to Sega fans recently asks for their feedback regarding Sonic mobile games. After asking about their history with the series, how much they agree certain words fit the character Sonic (like slow or punk), and what sports they think match Sonic the best or worst, the survey dives into crossovers.

Initially, it asks about interest in games starring Sonic and characters from other Sega games or non-Sega games. This then expands to talk about characters from other brands, including Nintendo, Disney, Dragon Ball Z, Capcom, and Adventure Time. Things then get even more specific, talking specifically about games featuring Sonic and Crash Bandicoot, Rachet and Clank, Link, Ryu, Mario, and Mega-Man, among others.

Elsewhere in the survey, Sega asks about the type of games Sonic stars in, and whether they should only be platformers or action games. You can see this and some of the other survey pages in the gallery below.

While Sega is asking about these possibilities, it doesn’t guarantee anything will come of it. Game companies survey fans all the time about things they might like to see, and those questions are not necessarily indicative of firm plans they may have.

This year marks the 25-year anniversary of the Sonic franchise. Sega plans to celebrate with a fan event in July where it will offer attendees an “exclusive first look at the future of Sonic.”
