Some Xbox One, PS4 Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Copies Facing Download Issues

[UPDATE] Problems downloading pre-loaded copies of Advanced Warfare also extend to PlayStation 4 versions of the game, according to a post on Sony’s support site. The same workaround applies on PS4–you’ll need to delete and re-download, Sony says. You can see the full FAQ about the issue here.

The original story is below.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare‘s release today (through the Day Zero edition) did not go entirely smoothly. Some users are reporting problems downloading their pre-ordered copies of the game. This issue has been fixed for most people, but if you are still encountering trouble, Microsoft advises that you delete the game and redownload it. Not ideal, for sure, but it’s at least a fix.

“We’ve received reports that some users are having issues getting their preordered copy of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare,” Microsoft said on its Xbox Live support page today. “We’re happy to say that our team has fixed the problem, but if you are still experiencing any issues, delete the game and redownload it. Thanks for your patience while we got this issue worked out. Have fun!”

You can download Advanced Warfare today on Xbox One (even if you didn’t preorder) through the Day Zero edition. If you buy the game today, you’ll even get double XP all day long. The game officially launches tomorrow, November 4, for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC.
