Capcom’s upcoming MMORPG Dragon’s Dogma Online will be getting two new Pawns in the form of Sony Computer Entertainment Japan president Atsushi Moritato and Street Fighter V producer Yoshinori Ono. The announcement was made during a live stream on NicoNico which detailed some features that will be available in Dragon’s Dogma Online (via Siliconera).
Pawns are “helper” non-player characters that players can customise, changing their personalities, voice, appearance, and gear. Players will be able to tame Pawns with commands.
Dragon’s Dogma Online will be released in Japan on August 31 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC. Capcom has not made any announcements regarding a launch in other territories. The most recent entry in the universe, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen, was released in North America and Europe in April 2013. The original game was positively received in GameSpot’s review, praised for the design of its boss fights, atmosphere, and unforgettable ending.
