Kabam president of worldwide studios, Nick Earl, has quit the mobile game developer behind titles in the Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Marvel, and Fast & Furious franchises.

Earl leaves Kabam after 11 months in his position. Previously, he spent more than 13 years at Electronic Arts, where he was senior vice president and general manager of EA Mobile.

In a farewell blog post, Earl said Kabam has been successful in its new “Fewer, Bigger, Bolder” corporate strategy. “Almost a year later, it’s clearly ‘job well done’ and Kabam is now a very different company,” Earl explained. “I am confident that Kabam Studios’ incredible leadership team will continue merging art and science to create amazing AAA quality mobile games for years to come.”

As for why Earl is leaving, Earl says: “Given this new direction and considering the experienced, talented leadership at the Group GM level, I have decided that Kabam is not the right place for me at this point in my career.”

Earl’s last day at Kabam was Friday, September 11.

“I remain very excited about Kabam’s future and I believe the Studio leadership is in great hands moving forward.. This team is unbeatable.”

Kabam’s latest game was Star Wars: Uprising, a new mobile RPG based on the iconic sci-fi series.
