Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS launch window will be revealed today

Writing on Twitter today, Nintendo teased that it will announce the launch window for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. game for Wii U and 3DS during this afternoon’s Nintendo Direct video presentation. This news “and much more” will be announced during the event, Nintendo says.

The upcoming Super Smash Bros. game is confirmed only for a vague “2014” release. The most recent entry in the series, 2008’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii, was released in March of that year.

It is possible that Nintendo will also reveal the official title for the new Wii U/3DS Smash Bros. game today. We’ll find out today at 3 p.m. PDT/6 p.m. EDT when the Nintendo Direct presentation takes place. Check back later for news and analysis.

Nintendo recently confirmed various Smash Bros. details like Luigi will get the Poltergust, the game will feature many items from The Legend of Zelda, and that Pikachu’s thunder attack will be overhauled.
