The new Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End story trailer uses imagery from an Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag art book, according to Ubisoft. Assassin’s Creed head of content Azaïzia Aymar pointed this out on Twitter, jokingly saying, “I get the ‘thief” title now.” This tweet has since been retweeted by the official Assassin’s Creed account.
Black Flag director Ashraf Ismail also chimed in, saying in a tweet directed to Naughty Dog, “umm, thanks for the homage… ?”
Another Ubisoft developer, Ubisoft Montreal boss Alex Hutchinson, sent out a tweet about the matter to Jonathan Cooper, who worked at Ubisoft before moving to Naughty Dog.

As you can see in the comparison images above, Naughty Dog’s scene definitely resembles the Black Flag art. The one notable difference is that the character standing by the boat in Black Flag’s art is not seen in the Uncharted 4 trailer. You can use the slider tool above to quickly compare the two images.
GameSpot has contacted Naughty Dog in an attempt to get more details. We will update this post with anything we hear back.
