Valve gives users tool to report Steam products for pornography, hate speech, legal violation, other reasons

A new feature on Steam will allow you to report products for containing pornographic content, content that violates the law in your jurisdiction, and other reasons, according to an image posted by Steam Database.

You’ll also be able to report a product for containing “content that is patently offensive or intended to shock or disgust viewers,” exploiting children in any way, hate speech, fraud, malware, and adult content that isn’t age-gated.

The feature is similar to Valve’s recently launched Steam Tags, which allows users to add text tags to individual games and software on their associated Steam Store pages.

These features, along with Steam reviews and new tools that allow developers to configure Steam sales and discounts, allow users and developers to manage content on Steam without much help from Valve.

In his recent Ask Me Anything on Reddit, Gabe Newell said that Valve is working on making Steam a self-publishing system.
