If there’s one thing certain about Christmas Eve, it’s that a jolly man in a red suit will be bringing seasonal cheer. This year it’s someone you might not expect–wisecracking super-anti-hero Deadpool. The Deadpool movie opens in February, and a special TV spot has been released. Check it out here:

This is the penultimate release in the 12 Days of Deadpool promotional campaign, which will finish with a new full trailer on Christmas Day. On December 22, a new IMAX poster revealed Colossus, the member of the X-Men who will also feature in the film, played by 24‘s Stefan Kapicic.

Deadpool stars Ryan Reynolds as mercenary Wade Wilson, who is given superhuman healing powers after undergoing experimental treatment for a terminal illness. Adopting a distinctive suit, the disfigured, fast-talking anti-hero seeks violent revenge on the men responsible for his condition.

The movie sits within Fox’s X-Men universe. Reynolds played the character briefly in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine, although this version is reportedly much closer to its comic book origins. The comic is noted for its blackly comic, violent approach to this unconventional superhero story. A first trailer was released in August–check that out here.

Deadpool is the directorial debut of visual effects artist Tim Miller. It also stars Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, and T. J. Miller, and arrives in theaters on February 12, 2016.
