In addition to a new CG trailer for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, people who watch Star Wars: The Force Awakens may also see a behind-the-scenes video for the upcoming action game. The video below is playing in some theaters in front of The Force Awakens, co-director Neil Druckmann said on Twitter.
In the video, which features grand action shots and sequences, Druckmann calls Uncharted 4 a “playable summer blockbuster” not unlike a big summer movie.
The game’s other director, Bruce Straley, says Uncharted 4 makes the most of video games as a medium. “We’re using our medium to the fullest,” he explains.
Also featured in the video are actors Nolan North (Nathan Drake) and Troy Baker (Sam Drake), among other people involved with the game’s production.
Even if you do see The Force Awakens, you may not see this video at the theater, however. Druckmann explains that it plays well before the start of the movie, possibly before you even take your seat.
Uncharted 4 isn’t the only video game that was promoted with an ad before The Force Awakens, as Microsoft also ran Halo 5: Guardians commercials before the big movie.
Uncharted 4 launches in March 2016 exclusively for PlayStation 4. The game’s multiplayer beta recently wrapped up.
