The opening cinematic for the upcoming full arcade release of Tekken 7 was revealed today. The video features central Tekken characters Kazuya Mishima and Heihachi Mishima brawling atop a fiery volcano. Kazumi Mishima, who will make her game debut in Tekken 7, also appears in the video.
In the past, the arcade openings to the Tekken games have been different to that of their console counterparts, so a different opening may make its way to a retail version of the game.
Several new characters will be making their series debut in Tekken 7, including Shaheen, Lucky Chloe, Claudio, and Katarina.
Tekken 7 was announced last year. The game, which is powered by Epic’s Unreal Engine 4, will be released for Japanese arcades this year, though console plans have not yet been announced. Series executive producer and game director Katsuhiro Harada was quoted as saying that “with Unreal Engine 4, we can rapidly achieve visual quality expected on next-gen platforms and go beyond it. Not only is Unreal Engine 4 powerful and easy to use, it allows us to immediately bring Tekken 7 to any platform we desire.”
