XCOM 2 has arrived. To mark the strategy game’s release today, February 5, publisher 2K Games has published a launch trailer that showcases the story and some of the alien creatures you’ll battle.
The game, developed by Firaxis Games and a sequel to 2012’s XCOM: Enemy Unknown, is set 20 years in the future, after humanity has lost the war against an alien threat.
GameSpot’s review of XCOM 2 scored it a 9/10.
“It’s mathematical, emotional, and thoughtful all at once. It’s exhilarating, even in the face of failure,” critic Mike Mahardy said in his review. “It’s compelling, even though we often lose. Victory is the goal, but that’s just an afterthought here–it’s the complex journey that counts.”
