WCS America and WCS Korea League Finals this Weekend

As the dramatic conclusion to WCS 2013 Season 1 draws near, the competition for prize money and precious WCS points becomes even more fierce. The Finals for WCS Korea and WCS America offer a weekend filled with entertaining eSports matches. The chase for BlizzCon is in full swing, and the players who do well this weekend will make huge strides for a coveted seat at the year-end world championship.

Lee ‘INnoVation’ Shin Hyung and Kim ‘Soulkey’ Min Chul will clash in the WCS Korea Grand Finals, starting at 08:10 CET on Saturday, June 1. With INnoVation’s dominance this season, and Soulkey falling to him in Proleague this week, can Soulkey rebound to win his first major championship? You can catch the action in person for free if you will be in Seoul during the games. Seating is based on “first come, first served” basis, but you can make a reservation through GOMTV’s website.

GOMTV will be broadcasting the Grand Final, with shoutcasters Daniel ‘Artosis’ Stemkoski and Nick ‘Tasteless’ Plott commentating the event. If you can’t make it in person, make sure you tune in and watch the live online broadcast on Twitch.

Following the WCS Korea Finals, the WCS America Season 1 Finals will continue this weekend's eSports action. Major League Gaming will bring you the broadcast live from New York City on June 1 and 2 starting at 19:00 CET each day. The field has been whittled down to six Korean players and two Westerners. Veterans left in the tournament include Song "HerO" Hyeon Deok and Jens ‘Snute’ Aasgaard, who look to add another trophy to their collections. Meanwhile, challengers like Andrew ‘mOOnGLaDe’ Pender and Yang "Alicia" Joon Sik desperately seek a breakthrough for their first major championship.

The round of 8 and semifinals will be broadcast starting on Saturday, while the Grand Final will be broadcast on Sunday. Nick ’Axslav’ Ranish, Alex ‘Axeltoss’ Rodriquez, Ben ‘Mr. Bitter’ Nichol, and Kevin ‘RotterdaM’ van der Kooi will have the cast, and you can catch every second of the action on Twitch.

As with last week’s WCS Europe Season 1 League Finals, you can click here for a WCS America round of 8 bracket that you can print out, fill out, and score as you watch the finals. If you’re headed to a BarCraft event this weekend, feel free to print off this WCS cheerful that you can customize to show your support for your favorite players.
