NCSoft has announced that the first closed beta weekend for its upcoming MMO Blade & Soul has begun. It started October 29 at 10 AM PDT. To play, you’ll need to buy a Founder’s Pack. Starting November 1, retailer Walmart is rolling out some new electronics offers. You’ll be able to get an Apple iPad mini 2 16 GB Wifi version for $200 (was $268). On top of that, Walmart will offer an RCA 48″ 1080p LED Smart HDTC for $300 (was $320). That deal is good online only.

The Securities and Exchange Commission has announced new guidelines for equity-based crowdfunding that could impact gaming. In short, non-accreddited investors can now invest in startups and share in their success (if they have success). More details are available at The New York Times.
