PS4 On Top

Despite Microsoft’s Xbox One price cut, Sony’s PlayStation 4 was the top-selling console in the United States in March 2016, the company announced this week as part of the month’s NPD report. [Full story]

Red Dead 2 Map

What was claimed to be the map for Rockstar’s unannounced Red Dead Redemption 2 emerged this week. Not only that, it’s rumored the game will be a prequel to the first game. [Full story]

The Division On Top

The NPD Group released its monthly report for March 2016 this week, revealing that Ubisoft’s The Division was the top-selling physical game in the US during the month. You can see the top ten best-selling games of the month here.

Deadpooler

The rumors were right. Fox is indeed making a Deadpool 2, the film company announced this week. Star Ryan Reynolds is back for the sequel, and so is the original writing team and director Tim Miller. [Full story]

$150 Million

After a mediation process didn’t turn out the way he wanted, former Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies sued Rockstar Games parent company Take-Two, claiming he’s owed $150 million in unpaid royalties. Take-Two doesn’t see it that way, calling Benzies’ claims “without merit and in many instances downright bizarre.” [Full story]

Siri, Is Jon Snow Dead?

Siri has an answer for everything, but she’s stumped by the fate of Jon Snow from Game of Thrones. Ask her if he’s dead or not and here’s what she says, according to actress Kerry Washington.

Popular Steam dinosaur game Ark: Survival Evolved is going to the moon…thanks to a new, impressive-looking total conversion mod called Ark Moon Survival. Check it out here.

Nintendo’s first smartphone game, Miitomo, is off to a hot start, it seems. The game is making around $280,000 per week, according to a new survey. The game is free, but people can spend real money to buy extra items and speed up progress. See all the stats from the survey here.

Jumbo Adorable

These jumbo Pokemon plush toys are adorable–and they induce sleep just looking at them. They cost around $43 and there are Pikachu, Bulbasaur, and Mudkip versions, among others. See them all here.

Flappy-Cig

Flappy Bird has been ported to a new device–but probably not the one you expected. The game is now playable on an e-cigarette thanks to an enterprising gamer. Check it out here at Kotaku.

Retro

Bandai Namco’s April Fools’ Day prank, which imagined the game as a ’80s VHS movie, is now a t-shirt. Not only that, but you can replace your existing game cover with a cool cover sleeve with the same design. Get the t-shirt here for $25, while the free covers can be downloaded here.

Roblox In VR

Following its release on Xbox One, the user-generated content platform Roblox launched this week for Oculus Rift. Even better, it has cross-platform functionality.

“Roblox is now the largest social VR platform in the world in terms of user count, hours of engagement, simultaneous players, and volume of content,” Roblox CEO David Baszucki said.

“Together with our creators, we are providing the most immersive social experiences in the history of user-generated gaming. With VR, we are changing gaming and entertainment as a whole by bringing imagination to life.”
