Sony Forms a New PlayStation Company
Sony Computer Entertainment became Sony Interactive Entertainment this week. What does it mean? The company will be headquartered in San Mateo and will “will serve as the headquarters for everything PlayStation” and allow the company to place a “bigger emphasis on developing pioneering platforms like PS4 and PlayStation VR, world-class games from our World Wide Studios development teams, and innovative network services such as PlayStation Vue.” [Full story]
Drop Zone
The next update for GTA V’s multiplayer mode, GTA Online, arrived this week, introduce a new parachuting-themed mode called Drop Zone and some new options for the Benny’s car shop. [Full story]
Star Wars Battlefront Ships 13 Million-Plus
DICE’s new shooter Star Wars Battlefront exceeded EA’s projection of 13 million copies shipped, the publisher announced this week as part of its latest earnings report. No word on how many copies were actually sold, however. [Full story]

Doomsday Is Coming
Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice arrives in March, but you can now look at a series of stills from the film. Empire Magazine posted the shots–and they look rad.
Assassin’s Creed 4 in Minecraft
People love remaking things in Minecraft. The latest example is the Havanna setting from Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. One Minecraft player did an excellent job bringing it into the game. See it here.
Road to the Show
It’s almost baseball season! That means another MLB The Show game is coming soon. Sony San Diego, the developer of MLB The Show 16, has now posted some new information about how Road to the Show is changing for this year’s installment.
Purrfect
A cat dating sim? Why not. This is a game currently seeking approval on Steam. This being the Internet, it will probably happen. Of course it’s called Purrfect Date.
Video Game Theme Parks

Winter Update
Guild Wars 2’s Winter Update is out! It’s the game’s first update of 2016, and it’s a big one. Among other things, i t lets players fly over the skies of Central Tyria and wage war with a deadlier version of Shatterer, among other things. You can see the full patch notes here.

Street Fighter Comes to TV
Like other big games, Capcom’s Street Fighter V is getting its own TV commercials. Check out the first one here. It’s a nice introduction to the game, which comes out next month.
Livelock
That’s the name of a new “fast-paced cooperative top-down shooter” from Perfect World Entertainment and Tuque Games. It launches later this year for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can learn lots more about it here on the game’s website.
Path of War
Path of War, which bills itself as a mobile game that blends action, strategy, and MMO elements, launched this week for iOS and Android devices. The game was developed by Envision Entertainment, which is a new version of the shuttered EA Phenomic. More information about the game and how to download it are available at the Path of War website.
Forza 6 DLC Revs Up
More DLC is now available for Xbox One racing game Forza Motorsport 6. The Alpinestars Car Pack launched this week and comes with six new cars. It’s included with the game’s Car Pass or can be purchased separately for $6.99. You can also buy the cars individually. Head here to see images and a video for the new DLC.
Master X Master
Guild Wars and WildStar publisher NCSoft has announced Master X Master, a new PC battle arena game. The game bears a resemblance to popular MOBAs like League of Legends and Dota 2, and aims to differentiate itself by incorporating elements of dungeon-crawlers. Read more about it at Polygon.
