The Darkmoon Faire is a visiting carnival, brought together by showman and entrepreneur Silas Darkmoon, offering a variety of fun activities every time it comes to its temporary location on Darkmoon Island.
On this dark, isolated and mysterious island, you can play minigames, unlock achievements, advance in your crafting skills through profession quests, get some useful buffs for your character, fight for a treasure chest, taste new flavors and exotic food, attend the Tauren Chieftains concert, take part in daily quests to be rewarded with Darkmoon Faire reputation, and earn Darkmoon Prize Tickets to buy pets, mounts, vanity items, and much, much more!
Is there an easy way to get there?
Yes! It can easily reach the portals located in Elwynn Forest and Mulgore by paying a Darkmoon Faire Mystic Mage (located in all capital cities and Dalaran) to teleport you there.
Although there is no level restriction to attend the Faire, you can only travel to the island while the Darkmoon Faire is open.
Why should I go there?
There is so much to purchase at the Darkmoon Faire for your characters: items, mounts, pets, replica armor to change your character appearance, and much, much more! You will need Darkmoon Prize Tickets to purchase those, and you can only obtain them by completing games and quests on this island.
Check out what's in store for you by clicking the buttons above!
Ok, what should I do when I arrive there for the first time?
First of all, talk to a Darkmoon Faire Greeter who will explain everything you need to know about this event. You can find them by the portals and the entrance to the Faire and they’ll provide you with detailed information on all the Faire’s activities.
They will also give you a Darkmoon Adventurer’s Guide to keep in your inventory: it will allow you to find Darkmoon Artifacts in appropriately challenging dungeons, raids, and battlegrounds.
Finally, don’t forget to buy some Darkmoon Game Tokens so you can play the Faire’s games. They are sold singly or in batches by several vendors scattered around the Faire.

The Darkmoon Faire also offers very useful items for those who want to play and level alternate characters: heirloom items. Heirloom Items can be shared with any of your characters on the same realm: they are Bind On Account. You can send them by in-game mail even if the recipient is on the opposite faction – as long as you don’t add anything else in the parcel!
These items have a pale golden hue in their text color, and their attributes scale with your character's level from 1 to 80, or 1 to 85. Daenrand Dawncrest, a well-equipped Blood-Elf, will exchange his precious gear for 110, 130, or 160 Darkmoon Prize Tickets, depending on which item. |

Here are the Heirloom items available for your character from level 1 to 80. You still can use them after level 80, but their stats won't upgrade anymore.

There is plenty to do at the Darkmoon Faire! From PvP matches to a walk in a wondrous zoo, not even mentioning the Tauren Elite Chieftains concerts every hour, this island is also the perfect place to train your fishing skills thanks to the presence of a Fishmaster on the deck.
PvP Challenge
The Darkmoon Deathmatch offers an experience unparalleled since the Gurubashi Arena, with a big old treasure chest just brimming with goodies and Darkmoon Prize Tickets that will appear in the Darkmoon Deathmatch Pit every three hours or so. Everybody wants it, so if you want a piece of the action you’ll just have to jump in and prove that you’re the toughest one in the Pit. |
Tauren Elite Chieftains concert
At the top of every hour, the Tauren Chieftains perform their hit song ‘Power of the Horde’ on a special stage set up for the occasion. |
Dancing Bear is fun
Of course, there’s more to the Darkmoon Faire than just fantastic shows and culinary delights. If you like dancing bears, you’ll be glad to know that there is one just waiting for you to dance with him! |
Lions, and tigers, and Gleok The Untamable! Oh, my!
This zoo is populated with exotic animals from all over Azeroth and beyond. Some are cute and nice, others are dangerous and wild; some can be ridden, others are untamable; some respond to friendly emotes, others will just stare at you in the most mysterious, inexpressive way. All of them are waiting for you! |
Do you see Dead people?
Darkmoon Isle might be a bit spooky, but except for the Deathmatch Pit, the Faire itself is completely safe. The shadowy woods surroundin’ the faire are another thing entirely, though. It is said that people have disappeared into those woods never to return, and that strange things happen there in the realm of the Dead… |
Huge, Sharp Teeth!
There is a grim lair somewhere on the island, a cave where the most foul, cruel, bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on is waiting for unlucky adventurers to challenge it. Beware, though, because you might want the help of an entire raid to defeat this monstruous creature! |
Fishing
The Darkmoon Island is a great place to fish, not only because you might find some Shipwreck Debris and a monthly fishing quest waiting, but also because a Fishmaster is waiting for you! It’s also been said there are a lot of seahorses in this area – who knows, you might find a baby one. |
You can also buy scrolls and consummable items to give your character a little boost to its stats, or even a nice cheap container to extend your inventory. Or are you searching for fun items? Darkmoon Faire is the place to seek!

Most of these items can also be found in a Darkmoon Game Prize from a Daily Quest.
