CD Projekt Red, the Polish developer behind The Witcher role-playing game franchise and digital PC store GOG.com, has issued a new statement to make it absolutely clear that the outfit is not looking for a buyer. Yesterday, a report claimed that CD Projekt Red was potentially in acquisition talks with publishing giant Electronic Arts. But that’s not true, according to co-founder and joint-CEO Marcin Iwinski.

“We usually don’t comment on rumors but this one has become quite viral and we think it deserves to be put to bed,” Iwinski said in a statement to Eurogamer. “We are not talking with anyone regarding selling CD Projekt Red or GOG.com. Period.”

The report yesterday included a supposed payslip from a reported CD Projekt Red employee. But Iwinski says, “The payslip is a fake; it was not issued by our company.”

CD Projekt Red is a subsidiary of CD Projekt, a publicly traded company in Poland. The company does work with publishing giants like EA–and Ubisoft and Square Enix, among others–for GOG distribution deals.

Next up for CD Projekt Red is the Hearts of Stone expansion pack for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which has sold more than six million copies. The DLC arrives in October and will be followed by another, Blood and Wine, in early 2016. Looking beyond that, CD Projekt Red is also working on a new RPG, Cyberpunk 2077.
