WoW Documentary Premiering at BlizzCon — What’s Your Favorite Memory?

Blizzard Entertainment’s genre-defining PC MMO World of Warcraft turns ten years old this month. In addition to various in-game celebrations, Blizzard has produced a documentary that celebrates ten years of Azeroth and the Alliance vs. Horde war that’s raged since November 2004.

The documentary is called World of Warcraft: Looking for Group. You can watch a trailer right now (above), while the full thing will debut at BlizzCon this Saturday, November 8, at 5 PM Pacific / 8 PM Eastern.

World of Warcraft: Looking for Group will feature interviews with key Blizzard designers and executives, and also commentary from some of the game’s legions of fans. The documentary also promises to take you into “corners of Blizzard and the WoW community you’ve never seen before.”

If you’re attending BlizzCon in person, you can watch World of Warcraft: Looking for Group at the Main Stage in Hall D on November 8 at the time posted above. People without a ticket (the show is sold out, after all) can watch the documentary for free on a livestream. The movie will later be posted to the World of Warcraft YouTube channel and the game’s official site.

The fifth expansion for World of Warcraft is called Warlords of Draenor. It launches on November 13, and introduces new zones and raises the level cap to 100. Some of Blizzard’s suprises for BlizzCon may have emerged ahead of schedule, as trademarks for unannounced Blizzard projects called Eye of Azshara and Overwatch were recently discovered.

World of Warcraft is a beloved game for many. I know I spent countless hours in Azeroth in high school and in my first year of college. Though Blizzard intends to keep World of Warcraft alive until at least 2024, the game’s ten-year anniversary is a good time to reflect. What’s your favorite memory of the game?
