Xbox One Getting Don’t Starve Two Years After Original Release

Don’t Starve launched in April 2013 for the PC and January 2014 for the PlayStation 4. It even made it to the Vita in September last year and to the Wii U this May. After more than two years, it’s finally going to be released on Xbox One.

Following a leaked European rating of the game, developer Klei Entertainment took to Twitter to confirm the port. “Hmmm… I guess the cat’s out of the bag!” the Twitter post says with an image of the game’s rating. “We’ll update with more info once we have a date.”

The game will launch together with its expansion, Reign of Giants.

Don’t Starve is a roguelike adventure game that has a lot of objects and tools to craft and a huge world to explore. Players are given control of a character named Wilson, who must scavenge for food and build tents to survive the night. GameSpot gave it a 7, noting its expansive open world and beautiful art while criticizing its initial grind.
