To celebrate the StarCraft II Arcade becoming completely free for all players, the Blizzard European Community team invited some big names in gaming to battle it out with us in the Arcade on January 31. It was Team Fantastic (Day[9], Hafu, Sheth, ChanmanV, and Lumin) vs. Team Amazing (the EU Community team), and after a fun-filled night of gibbing enemies, throwing discs, and dodging balls, Team Amazing managed to come out on top with a 2-1 victory!

We started the night off with a few rounds in Fatty Fight, and Team Amazing took an early lead by destroying the Fantastic fatties with some precision hooks. Team Fantastic did what they could to keep up in kills by ripping apart some Amazing fatties, but it just couldn’t keep them from losing the first series of the evening. It was a slow start for any Fantastic fans watching, but there was still more to come!

Photon Discs was next on the menu, and this time Team Fantastic was out for blood. It was neck and neck in the first match of this series, until Team Fantastic managed to pull ahead with a score of 100-80. The second match evened things out, with Team Amazing coming back from a slow start to capture three flags from their opponents and steal away the win. With the series on an even keel, both teams were fighting for dominance, and it all came down to the Photon Ball mode. After Sheth quickly put Team Fantastic on the scoreboard, the game took a turn and Team Amazing managed to score five swift points to win the match, taking the second series 2-1.

With Team Amazing taking both series so far that night, Team Fantastic wanted revenge. After Day[9] created a straw poll to decide what the next map would be, the community chose to have the final showdown on StarDodgeBall. We’re not ashamed to admit that Team Fantastic slaughtered Team Amazing in glorious fashion! With a fast series going 2-0 in favor of Team Fantastic, they did manage to exact some revenge and finish the evening with one series to their name.

In the end, it was Team Amazing with a 2-1 victory over Team Fantastic! Thank you to Day[9], Hafu, Sheth, ChanmanV, and Lumin for making this a night to remember.
